NoteMee ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our note-taking application.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you register, we collect:

  • Email address
  • Name (optional)
  • Password (securely hashed)

Content You Create

We store the notes, projects, tasks, and other content you create within the app. This content is stored securely and is only accessible by you.

Usage Data

We may collect anonymous usage statistics to improve the service, including:

  • Feature usage patterns
  • Error reports
  • Performance metrics

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the service

Your content is stored as long as you maintain an active account. If you delete your account, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

NoteMee Web Clipper (Chrome Extension)

The NoteMee Web Clipper is a Chrome extension that saves web pages to your NoteMee account. It only runs when you explicitly click its toolbar icon.

When you click Save, the extension sends the following to your NoteMee account:

  • The page title and URL of the tab you are on
  • Any text you have selected on the page (only if you have selected text)
  • The title and note body you have edited in the popup before saving

The extension never reads or transmits pages you have not chosen to save. It does not track your browsing history, run in the background, or send data to any server other than notemee.com. It does not include any analytics or tracking scripts.

To authenticate, the extension uses your existing NoteMee session cookie on notemee.com. You must be signed in to notemee.com for the extension to work. The extension does not read or store your password.

Uninstalling the extension from Chrome removes all local extension data. Your saved notes remain in your NoteMee account; to delete those, sign in to notemee.com and delete them from your dashboard, or delete your account from Settings.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and preferences. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes.

Children's Privacy

NoteMee is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification.
